April 11, 2022 6:17 PM

Coounty Councillor Barbara Brodigan was elected to North Yorkshire County Council in May 2022 for the Ripon Ure Bank and Spa division.

She trained as a primary school teacher in Sheffield, before starting her career in Liverpool, later moving to Leeds, and finally Doncaster, where she was Head of International Development at University Centre Doncaster.

Barbara continues to work as an education consultant, managing educational partnerships between schools, colleges and universities across Europe.

Barbara lives in Ri Barbara Brodiganpon with her husband and her Yorkshire terrier. She enjoys working on her allotment and making preserves and fruit flavoured gins from her produce.

She founded the Ripon Spa Residents Action Group, to campaign for a sustainable and improved road infrastructure before development at the Ripon barracks begins.

She continues to campaign against overdevelopment, believing that the fabric of the ancient city should be preserved and maintained for residents and visitors.
